I don’t want to be a short order cook.

I think the biggest reason that our meal plans are unplanned, at this point, is that we all have something different going on with our diets.

I am post gastric-bypass surgery. I should remove gluten from my diet. I can not eat any sugar-substitutes, monosodium glutamate, and many of those “ite” words you read on food labels.

I do not really eat whole meats anymore. So a steak, filet, chop, and tenderloin do not fit on my meal plate.

If these were my only limitations, it might be easier.

But..

Half of my family needs those same items that I can’t eat, as they pursue their lower carb lifestyles.

One of us is allergic to poultry.

One of us disdains seafood.

One of us will not have anything to do with caffeinated beverages.

On a side note:
One of our cats will only eat the orange can of salmon, Fancy Feast canned cat food. There are eight million varieties of Fancy Feast. He will eat ONE. He also recently rebelled from the healthier Iams variety of dry food that I wanted them to eat. He only eats the orange bag crunchies. The original flavor or nothing at all. This same cat will drink out of your glass, so please beware. He uses his paw, too. We didn’t teach him how to do this. But your glass of water always tastes better than his bowl of water, on the floor. Oh and don’t leave your bowl of cereal alone. He has been known to take apart a good sandwich, too. He loves the low carb snacks. “Roni” is his favorite. He doesn’t much care if you make chips out of the Pepperoni or not. He’s not picky about his Roni or your mandarin oranges. No joke.
