In my Nutty Dreamz.. For the Love of Oatz!

Butter making woman/femme, faisant du beurre/F...Image via WikipediaImage via WikipediaThere is simply something fabulous about Old Fashioned Oatmeal.

I know it sounds silly… but OHMYGOSH it’s good.

Why have I ever eaten anything “less” than the best? It doesn’t take that long. Really.

If you eat instant oatmeal, please stop.  That mush is not the joy that you deserve. :)

Its even faster, when you sit and read blogs while you have your 15 year old follow the directions on the back of the box, too. *smile*

a little brown sugar.. a little butter.. a little milk or cream..

This is Heaven in a bowl. A nutty.. chewy.. joy!

I’m so easy.

These oatmeal “muffins” look yummy, too.  I wonder if I could substitute yogurt for the milk.. and dehydrated cranberries..

I’d like to adapt this Red Oatmeal, to not be cooked in the nuker.  I find great joy in flax seeds, too. I sorely miss the Cranberry Coffee Cake, with Flax seeds, that Whole Foods used to tempt me with, at the bakery.  No one knows what I’m talking about, to ask for it, now.  That’s so sad, to me.

Anyone know the equivalent, of real eggs, to 4 ounces of substitute, in a carton?  I’ll have to figure that out, to try this Autumn Baked Oatmeal.  Please don’t be offended, but, I won’t be doing any “fat free” when I make this.  I bet a little flax seed oil would be yummy, with this, too.

This Apple Cinnamon Baked Oatmeal makes me want to buy Protein Powder again.  I especially love that it has dates in it. I’m a new date fan. (I’m not sure what rock I’ve been living under, but it didn’t teach me anything about dates.)  Since when do women eat half what men do??  Half? Hmmm

I have a box of Steel Cut Oats that I haven’t braved, to try, yet.  I think I need to add a thermos, like this one, to my wish list, so I can try Thermos Oatmeal.  (That’s a pretty geeky side of me, to want something simply because I read it, in a recipe, I want to try, huh? *giggle*) Oh, and a big “ooh” to the idea of blueberries, in it.

I’m not sure that I can jump on the wheat germ, bandwagon, but this post looks yummy. I’m worried about adding more gluten to my diet, though.  I’d LOVE to find posts, like this, devoted to flax seed. (I’ll work on that.)  I wonder if ground flax seed can be interchanged with wheat germ..

Here is wonderful Oatmeal cuppie-cake muffin I want to try, with leftover oatmeal..

What type of hot cereal do you prefer??  What must you stir-in?  How has your “ways” of eating/serving hot cereal changed, from your childhood??

The Apple Cinnamon Baked Oatmeal recipe size is for bigger guys, I figured ladies may freak at the 520 calories, but 260 healthy calories is great for any woman.

    Thanks for the mention!

    Hi David!

What are calories? *giggle* I’m all for full of yum. I’m having trouble with protein powder.. so I haven’t been able to try this, yet. Loan me a couple scoops, and I’ll 1/2 it?

    Thanks for stopping by.
