I’m a cooking fool, out of freezer space, and could you please run to Sam’s, for me?

IMG_3702There is a way to “do” Sam’s club without breaking the bank. I try to buy my “basics” there.

I had to give up caring about the carbon footprint of most of our food, because my budget can’t accommodate my brain, in that regard.

(Conspiring men just have to come back tomorrow.)

I can still hate that my garlic is Chinese, tho. *rolling eyes*

These are routinely on my list:

Produce:

Dairy:

  • Organic 1/2 and 1/2
  • Organic Heavy Cream
  • Butter (I prefer Land O Lakes Butter, but I buy this butter, as back up, because I seem to run out, lately. I hate running to the store for just butter. I even buy it in 1/2 sticks, (1/4 cup,) when its the same price as the other.)
  • CoJack Cheese (Lake O Lakes 2 #)
  • Gouda Cheese
  • Smoked Gouda Cheese
  • Ricotta Cheese

Baking:

Misc:

  • Canned Crushed Tomatoes (#10 is around $2.25 where I live.)
  • Canned Hunts Catsup (#10 can is just over $3) (I know Hunt’s calls is Ketchup. Hush.)
  • Canned Italian Cut Green Beans
  • Salsa

I have been a cooking fool, so far, this week. I’m hoping that I can get by with just salad fixings, this week and next.. and we can eat out of my freezer, next week.. so I can have a kitchen break.

Now, back to my kitchen.. the crock pot is stewing down meat to shred, there is a pot of Japanese stew going, and I need to “put up” some chili, for next week, with the browned ground beef, that is in there waiting for me and crushed tomatoes, left-over from yesterday’s spaghetti sauce experiment, that also needs to be turned into lasagna.

Can I borrow some of your freezer space?

If you pop in, for dinner, next week, please bring some really good bread. Thnx. :)
