The Bulging Fridge Friday

I just happened to grocery shop, this morning. My refrigerator was already busting, at the seems, from the week’s menu. We will be eating, out of this, for the next ten days. Come on over.

What do we find?

A. What you can’t see, up here (and I’m too lazy to retake the photo) is 1 qt Red Beans and Rice (sans Rice,) 2 qts HM Chicken Noodle Soup, 1 quart HM Broccoli Cheese soup, 1 pt Red Beans and Rice (sans Rice,) 1 pt Cooked Oatmeal, 2 qt 1/2 and 1/2 (both laying on their sides, on the top, in the middle,) and four egg cartons, with 3.5 dozen raw eggs and 6 boiled eggs. (I think I forgot 2 – 16 oz sour cream and the chicken salad, with chopped apple and purple grapes, I just made.. and the newly made Mayo, in a pint jar, in front of the eggs.)

B. 24 oz cottage cheese, 48 oz ricotta cheese, 1 head Romaine Lettuce, 1/2 Euro cucumber, 4 Roma Tomatoes, and leftover Venison Cube Crock Pot Yum. The bag has roasted garlic, still wrapped in the foil. On the left side, against the wall is bacon, both cooked and raw.

C. 16 oz Fage yogurt, 2 heads iceberg lettuce, (plz no hate mail) 2 lg Walmart Deli Cole Slaw (cuz we can’t go without it,) 2 – 16 oz fresh strawberries, big bag of Potato Salad, I just made, a yellow pepper, that, I think, should be in my crock pot, an avocado, and the rice, that goes with the red beans, above. (The container, on top of the yogurt, is fresh dates.)

D. This is generally “meats.” Today it has a bag of cooked crumbled bacon, a pkg of sandwich pepperoni, a container of feta cheese, and roast beef and turkey deli sliced meat.

E. 2 – 1/2 gal of orange juice, 2 – 1/2 gal of whole milk, 1/2 gal fat free milk, 1/2 gal whole buttermilk, a big jar of pickles, and 1 qt heavy whipping cream.

F. (below the meat drawer, but hard to see, even for me, who put it there! :) ) There are some fresh plums, here, that I need to try to bake into some type of muffin, or something. Haven’t decided, or figured it out, yet.

G. This is my produce drawer. Inside you will find 2 Meyer Lemons, 4 limes, 6 lemons, 4 poblano peppers, 4 serrano chilies, 4 jalapeno peppers, 2 Euro cucumbers, 2 bunches of scallions, 4 small yellow crook-necked squash, fresh ginger, 1 orange bell pepper, 2 red bell peppers, and 6 fuji apples.

F. This is, generally, my cheese drawer. I know. Its insane. Inside you will find 2 pounds of cream cheese, 4 pounds of colby-jack chunk cheese, 2 pounds monterrey jack cheese, 8 oz pepper jack cheese, 2 pounds mozarella cheese, a small hunk of Parm Reg, a small hunk of Fontina, a bag of grated Gruyerre, a large hunk of smoked Gouda, a bag of grated mozarella, and 4 pounds of carrots, that wouldn’t fit in the produce drawer.

I. The little space has Probiotic 8, Dry Active Yeast, a hidden bar of some deep dark chocolate, from Whole Foods, and some balsamic viniagrette dressings, from Atlanta Bread Company. I think I call this part, “my secrets.”

J. This is where all the butter and Better than Bouillon resides.

K. The start of condiment hell. “The Boys” many bottles of diff variety Sweet Baby Rays, Oyster Sauce, Sun dried tomatoes, Maurice’s Pepper Sauces, all the different mustards.. flax seed oil, Kalamata Olives..

L. “The Boys” Asian Chili Sauce, Tapatio, Tobasco (Green and Regular,) Jams, Jellies, and what’s left of my Duke’s commercial Mayo. Its a fluke to have Duke’s. I am a Best Foods/Hellman’s Mayo Queen. Duke’s was on sale, at BiLo for $1.99 and “Girlie” can’t live without Mayo. I hope she likes my HM. :) (Oh, and and there are two jars of beets, for salads.)

M. 2 bottles of catsup (from my #10 hell can,) some commercial salad dressings, 1 qt HM Bacon Ranch Salad Dressing, Worcestershire Sauce, Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, Pickles, Salsa’s.

L and M are full of HFCS and if I lived alone, would be purged, immediately. *sigh*

Now, I need to end my 5 minute sit break, that turned into 2 hours, and go make the corn bread. I’ll be back, to find some muffin recipes, for the plums and strawberries.
