Front Porch Cleaned up and Repurposed Flowers

front porch
My front porch is very difficult to please in the plant kingdom because it spends most of its day out of direct light.. then around 4pm, the sun turns on the heat and fries anything on that front porch, before it sets, for the night.

I’ve made a self-pledged goal to not let these plants die, in July, simply because I don’t want to melt, myself, to be out there.. so maybe I’ll need to come up with some type of irrigation idea..

The blue tubs were added, this year, to house the day lillies that survived the end-of-year 2008 mow-down. I thought these yellow lilies would be complimented with some purple verbena.

On the porch, the rear higher pots have snapdragons, in burgundy, yellow, and while. The front pots have deep purple petunias and dark pink vinca/periwinkle.

If the heat is too intense, in the afternoons, before long, I may consider hanging some shade fabric or replacing the snapdragons with some lantana that i may have to prune, often.

We added a new decorative door mat and all will be complete, up there, when I get the door scrubbed down and the window cleaned.

There are new wind chimes, hanging, just above, the left blue bucket, on a hook. I had to take them down, with the wild wind, last night.. I hope they can live out there and not drive my neighbors bonkers. IF they do irritate them, I hope they can just kindly tell me to move them.
