When Life Gives you Lemons.. Reinstall your OS

lemonsI love lemons. Adore them. I would choose lemon desserts over chocolate.

I love chocolate. I just love lemons, more.

I don’t know if I love lemons more than limes, however. They are siblings, though, aren’t they?

If lemons and limes are siblings, then oranges must be cousins..

and Meyer lemon’s are a family scandal? *giggle*

There are three common ingredients, that I see, in recipes, with lemons, that just don’t sit, too well, with me:

  • Chocolate
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries

Yeah? Well, convince me.

I don’t like meringue, either.

Yes, really.

I have been using my private room, on Friendfeed, to gather lemon goodness recipes. I’m having a little problem, though..

I don’t own:

  • Pie pans
  • Pop-over pan
  • Jumbo Muffin Pan
  • Tart Dish
  • Souffle Dish
  • Ramekins
  • Jelly Roll Pan

I don’t know how I get through life, this way, either. LOL

My birthday is next week, though.. hmmmm

I’d like a heavy, commercial Popover pan, like my regular/mini muffin pans. I have no idea what brand. I think I want it to hold 12 and not mini sized pop-overs. Dark, in color. I wonder, though, if I could use a jumbo muffin pan for popovers? I’d rather have one of those, if it can do double duty..

Have I told you how much I really hate single use items and appliances?

I’d like clear glass pie pans. (Or white.. or red.. ) Can you make tarts in a pie pan?

Can you really use coffee cups for ramekins? I have two sets of dishes, that came with coffee cups, we never use. I’d love to use them. Hmmm

Can you make souffle in a corning ware dish? Maybe the corners would hold it down? Does it matter, if I’m going to lose grip, of the oven door, and have it slam back, as I try to open, the oven door, to remove the souffle? Does it really fall?

Recipes I want to try, but need one of the above, first:

(and I really do have to reinstall my OS. I’ve tolerated my Flock browser being MIA, but my OS is messing with my Tweetdeck, now, too, and that just can’t be taken lightly!)

Please answer one of my questions. “I don’t know” is good, too. *smile*

You ask good questions! I don’t see why you couldn’t use (oven-proof) coffee cups as ramekins. Especially if you never use them anyway. I’ve been on a lemon kick myself, in the last month or two making gingerbread with lemon sauce, lemon bread, lemon soup, hot lemonade, citrus/mint punch, and, my very favorite, lemon curd. It takes only a couple of lemons, and you can spread it on bread or muffins instead of jam. Yum. Can’t wait to hear more of your lemon ideas :)
