Gaining Courage from The Boy.. My first day at 40!

Someone stepped on The Boy’s Sun Glasses. There is a crack, in the frame, and the left lens has to be held IN, now.

Now worries. Just remove it.

On my birthday, he non-chalantly walked around, with the lens missing, from his shades, like nothing was wrong.

It didn’t matter where we were.. he walked tall, with a straight face..

It really was hysterical. I can only wish for such courage.

Yesterday, he was wearing them, around the house, as he prepared to mow the lawn. I asked him, if he was going to wear them out, in the yard, too. He proudly affirmed that, as if I was thinking there was something wrong with the idea.

Since that idea of his silliness, had turned to courage, I didn’t have.. I mentioned that he should super glue the broken lens.

What was I thinking? He used electrical tape. I love that boy!

Leaning on that courage, I set out, yesterday, to find a new blouse. I tried on the regular black “something” and it just looked frumpy and too big. All of my clothes are looking a little too big, lately.

I was blessed with very minimal pain, for my birthday. The day after is another story. Its not always easy to fake-feel-good and put your best foot forward, but I tried.

I took Girlie with me, yesterday, as my caddy. She had to carry everything, for me, because I was barely able to carry myself. She opposed every great looking thing, I liked, with, “That looks like Grandma.”

My mom is cool, by the way. My eldest daughter, on the phone, said, “I’d wear things Grandma wears.” This gave me more courage, to buy something, non-teen approved, too.

I found something I love. I spent more money, on a blouse, than I ever thought I would. I never pay full retail for blouses or shirts. Clearance is my middle name. I’ve just reached a size that seems to be more popular and harder to find..

This is what 40 looks like, for $19.99:

and it was teen-approved! I feel so honored. LOL
