Houston, we made Hummus!

HM Hummus I’ve been collecting cans of Chick Peas for months. As I started to overcome my fear, of making my own HM Hummus, I realized that I didn’t have any tahini.

I researched blogs and Google Juice for recipes for Tahini, but I decided that I didn’t want it crunchy.. so I purchased a can of Sesame Butter/Tahini, at Whole Foods, a couple weeks ago.

Now I had all the tools. I just needed courage.

Today, I looked around, at some recipes. I don’t have any lemon. I have several limes, and I prefer the taste of lime.

I opened up the Tahini. I expected the oil, on the top. I didn’t know if it would ever mix together. So I just kept stirring.

I started with this recipe. When I opened up the food processor, I was scared. It didn’t even look appetizing. It was thick and well..

I started adding things. More olive oil, cumin, dried parsley, more salt, more pepper, a second lime. I didn’t think I could ruin it, worse than it already tasted, to me.

I had to scrape the sides a few times.

Then I tried it, again. WOW! This is good stuff. My modified recipe is here. TheBoy says he’d like it better with the Tzatziki Sauce, on top.
