Its hard to feel frugal, when you are a cheese snob!

gabietouI could eat just cheese, for the rest of my life, and be a very very happy woman. I’ve decided that Danielle, at Whole Foods, isn’t my Cheese Lady, anymore.. she is my Cheese Friend.

I was, financially, discouraged to fall in love with La Tur. I mean.. really.. who buys $25/lb cheese? ::blink blink::

So, when I was wrapping-up, at the meat counter, at Whole Foods, and TheBoy mentioned he wanted to find a cheese to eat on steak, I started to worry. I said, “Tell Danielle, we are not having a $25/lb cheese,” as a joke.

Have you met Herve mons Gabietou? Yeah, I’d love to be able to say it, like Danielle. It didn’t sound like the pronunciation Janet Fletcher shares. But, I do feel the “love at first site.”

Gabietou is heavenly. It is semi-soft, light, and nutty. Right up our mild cheese alley. My frugal heart bought a little.. and clearly, not enough.

Danielle told us the story about how its only available once a year and they can’t even order it.. they just have to accept what they get. That intrigued me enough to do some Google juicing.

Clearly, I have a “thing” for sheep cheese.. or maybe its just the blends.

Some people love latte’s, wine, and/or beer. Some people live on processed food. I’ll have my lil’ hunk of heavenly cheese. :)
